Trans Siberian Railway, TSR (Trans Siberian Railroad, TSR)
It is a transcontinental railway which connects approximately 7,400km of distance from Chelyabinsk to Vladivostok in the east of Russia’s Ural Mountains since 1905. Its official name is The Great Siberia Railway. It was planned for increase of military means, colonization and Chinese trades in the Far East region in 1850. The plan was to follow the Siberia highway and investigations began in 1887 before its construction began(1891-92). In 1897, it was partially open. The electrification of the railroad started in 1929 and the actualization of the entire sector was finalized in 2002.
Trans China Railway, TCR (Trans China Railroad,TCR)
It is a transcontinental railroad that penetrates through China and departs in Lianyungang and arrives in Alaraw Shankou, a borderline area of Kazakhstan, travelling 4,018km. It is connected to TSR and forms a railroad network between the Far East and Europe.
TCR transport became available since 1992. However, it was long abandoned because of the transshipment conflicts in the Chinese and Kazakhstan borderline and also because of distrust from the shippers. In 1999, thanks to active cargo attraction, the National Railroad Administration of China, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan endeavored to make TCR as settled as we know today.
